Focus Traffic
Focus Traffic is all about website traffic - and more specifically increased website traffic.
Types of website traffic
Website traffic can be divided into two groups:
Focused Website Traffic
Focus
Your aim should always be to increase only targeted traffic to your website.
Another term would be targeted website traffic. These are visitors who are interested in your product, service or what you are writing on your website. These visitors would normally come from a search engine (after doing a search and finding your website), or links from other websites or from advertising campaigns that you have set up to drive traffic to your website.
All these visitors have one thing in common: They are to a greater or lesser extent interested in your website.
Unfocused Online Traffic
Another terms would be untargeted traffic. These are visitors that landed on your website by chance. This happens when your keywords or links or advertising campaign is not specific enough or even misleading. Very often this fuzziness in your link description or advertising does not happen intentionally - but it still results in a waste of time and money.
Increased Web Site Traffic
The big question is: How do you increase focused online traffic? The answer has multiple facets - no single answer can completely satisfy the question.
One approach would be to look at the issue of increased website traffic from the following point of view:

Search Engine Traffic is still today a very large source of traffic. When your website has a good position in the search engines you are ensured of traffic to your website, and in most cases it will be focused traffic - visitors interested in your website.
Search Engines and how to get onto page 1 of Google is a large topic on its own, involving other websites linking back to you, the right keyword phrases and much more. We cover all of these in more detail on the FocusTraffic website.
Paid For Traffic
Paid for traffic is normally handled in advertising campaigns. It is obvious that you have to track your campaigns and statistics to ensure profitable campaigns.
Traffic campaigns to drive traffic to your website can include: PPC Traffic, Banner Traffic, Advertising in Newsletters, Advertising on Other Websites and more.
We cover all of these in more detail on the FocusTraffic website.
Other Types Of Traffic
There are other types of traffic generation types, such as traffic exchanges - and more.
The Trap In Online Traffic
Yes there are many traps. I want to warn you about two traps.
Paying For Increased Traffic
Check
Always be very careful when reading the adverts of the next big traffic generation scheme.
—–
How much time?
—–
Is it scalable?
You always pay for increased web site traffic. Either in money or in time.
There are people who will sell you techniques to generate FREE online traffic. What they don’t mention is that you have to spend two hours a day in generating that traffic - with no guarantee that it will provide an adequate return on the time you have invested.
You always have to weigh up your own precious time against the return you get on that.
Scalability
Most people have more that one website. The reason is that seldom one can generate a big enough income with one site alone.
Many of the techniques to generate increased website traffic is not scalable. An example is some software that will find you blogs in your same niche, where you can make comments and create a link back tou your site.
If you have five websites, combined producing a fair income, then the question is: Is the technique scalable? Do you have enough time to - for each website - go to other websites and post comments. The answer is an easy: No - I don’t have the time.
Purpose
The purpose of Focus Traffic is to give you some insight into traffic generation techniques that work. But also tell you what the time and cost implications are.
I sincerely hope you are going to enjoy the ride.
